One of our companies is currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Canada.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead backend development initiatives while also contributing to frontend projects. Your main focus will be on building and maintaining secure and scalable systems, with an emphasis on privacy features like email and phone number masking. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, drive best practices in software development, and participate in code reviews to ensure the quality and reliability of systems. In addition, you’ll engage in regular security and privacy reviews to ensure data protection compliance and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Accountabilities:

• Lead backend development using Python, Django, and REST framework to support privacy and security features.
• Design and maintain systems for email and phone number masking, ensuring high standards for data protection and user privacy.
• Collaborate with the SRE team to manage production environments and implement monitoring tools like Grafana, Sentry, and BigQuery for tracking metrics and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to frontend development in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js to support seamless integration between frontend and backend.
• Participate in security and privacy reviews to ensure compliance with data protection standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to fostering technical excellence across the engineering team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on backend technologies.
• In-depth experience with Python, Django, and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP, particularly in deploying and operating applications.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and collaboration with SRE teams.
• Experience with monitoring and data analysis tools such as Grafana, Sentry, and BigQuery.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js for full-stack development.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams to achieve common goals.
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence in coding and testing practices.
• Bonus points for experience with REST APIs, Twilio, AWS services, and GCP tools such as Kubernetes and BigQuery.
