Job Description
The Director of Accounting Operations drives process improvement projects and establishes best in class accounting operations focused on efficiency, accuracy, and cross-functional alignment. You will play a crucial role within the Accounting and Finance team, reporting to the Corporate Controller. We ask that you have experience leading teams, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of accounting operations and accounting flow of transactions. This is a fully remote role.
Responsibilities:
Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and scalability of accounting operations. Ensure process improvement projects include assessment and implementation of necessary internal controls.Oversee accounting operations project portfolio, ensuring all projects are scoped and implemented according to plan.Assess and select appropriate tools for us that promote automation and streamlining of accounting tasks and reporting.Identify and lead broad prioritization of accounting and finance organization projects. Deliver continuous improvement by reviewing process workflows, implementing and implementing process improvements.Manage projects, ensuring agreement on overall goals and timelines.Lead any special projects that span multiple teams across Finance, Accounting, and other teams.Lead accounting operations teams, including accounts payable, procurement, and sales incentive compensation.Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5+ years in a management or operations-focused role.Experience moving projects from brainstorming into defined requirements into execution and communicationsStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.Accounting operations and accounting flow of transactions backgroundExperience leading a team.Assess and implement key control points within processesPhysical/Cognitive Requirements:
Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location.Capability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods.Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment.No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs of force (e.g., lifting a computer / laptop) may be required.Capability to work with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner.Travel, as needed.
