We’re looking for a self-driven Senior Backend Engineer who’s passionate about building the future of AI-powered applications. You’ll play a pivotal role in architecting, optimizing, and scaling robust backend systems—with a particular focus on integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into our platform.

This is a remote-first opportunity to collaborate with a globally distributed and high-caliber team, offering flexibility and direct mentorship from the founding team.

Requirements

What You’ll Do

• Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems using Flask and PostgreSQL.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy, manage, and optimize applications on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
• API Design: Develop and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support frontend and AI-driven workflows.
• Data Handling: Leverage pandas to process and analyze structured data for intelligent decision-making.
• LLM Integration: Work on integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into the product, optimizing API usage and performance.
• Performance & Security: Ensure backend systems are secure, high-performing, and scalable to handle production-level workloads.
• Troubleshooting: Efficiently identify and resolve issues, ensuring system reliability and uptime.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, following engineering best practices.
• Collaboration: Work directly with founders and cross-functional teams, contributing to the product roadmap and technical direction.

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer or in a similar backend-focused role.
• Strong expertise in Flask and PostgreSQL.
• Practical experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• Experience with LLMs or AI/ML applications (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face APIs) is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency with pandas for data processing and analysis.
• Hands-on experience in RESTful and GraphQL API development.
• Solid understanding of backend scalability, performance, and security best practices.
• Bonus: Familiarity with React and TypeScript is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Self-starter attitude, comfortable working independently in a remote-first team.
