One of our companies is currently looking for a Head of Finance in Europe Union.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the financial operations for the European subsidiaries of a rapidly growing biopharmaceutical company. You will play a key part in building out the finance function from the ground up, ensuring compliance with local requirements, and leading strategic initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of the organization, provide financial leadership, and partner with cross-functional teams to drive the company's success in Europe.
Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage all finance operations for the European subsidiaries, including accounting, tax, and FP&A.
- Ensure financial processes are compliant with local regulations and aligned with a strong internal control environment (SOX 404).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams both in Europe and the US to establish and scale financial operations.
- Oversee VAT accounting, statutory tax reporting, and transparency reporting within European countries.
- Partner with the Corporate FP&A team to lead the budgeting process and periodic forecasting updates for the region.
- Guide the preparation and review of quarterly financial reports comparing actuals versus budgets for each country and region.
- Develop and implement policies to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ensure financial operations are scalable for future growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, or Finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in finance, with a strong background in accounting operations, tax, and FP&A.
- Previous experience managing a team and leading finance operations for a subsidiary of a US-based company.
- In-depth knowledge of statutory tax accounting, VAT, and internal controls in a public company setting.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven ability to influence and implement new policies, procedures, and programs across global teams.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is preferred.
