We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial accounting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and tax regulations, supporting external audits, and improving financial processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist in month-end and year-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and compliance with US GAAP, tax laws, regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, identifying trends and variances.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Manage and respond to audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial data.
  • Assist in tax filings, regulatory reporting, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations, financial reporting standards, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field along with 2+ years of experience
  • CPA certification is required
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial multi-currency reporting requirements, and internal controls.
  • Experience with NetSuite is preferred, and proficiency in Concur for expense and invoice management and Floqast for reconciliations is highly valued.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose actionable solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive individual with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in the Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry is a plus.
