We are seeking a skilled and dedicated System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, with a focus on higher education environments. This role involves working with a variety of technologies to ensure the reliable and secure operation of our clients’ systems. 

This is a remote, WFH position. The salary range for this position is $79,000-$105,000 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Active Directory Management: Maintain and troubleshoot Active Directory environments. 
  • Virtualization: Manage and support virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware. 
  • Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell or Python to automate tasks and improve efficiency. 
  • Server Administration: Administer and support both Windows and Linux servers. 
  • Database Administration: Manage and maintain databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. 
  • Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra: Manage and support Microsoft 365 environments and Microsoft Entra. 
  • Docker Containers: Administer and manage Docker containers (beneficial experience). 
  • Higher Education Support: Provide IT support tailored to the needs of higher education institutions (beneficial experience). 
  • ConnectWise Automate: Utilize ConnectWise Automate for system monitoring and management (beneficial experience). 
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Manage infrastructure in cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, and OCI (beneficial experience). 

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role. 
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Hyper-V, and VMware. 
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python. 
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server administration. 
  • Familiarity with database administration. 
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 environments and Microsoft Entra. 
  • Beneficial experience with Docker containers, higher education environments, ConnectWise Automate, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, OCI). 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Team-Oriented: Strong ability to work within a team environment, taking direction from a project manager and collaborating with other technical staff. 
  • Technical Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of administering physical and virtual data centers. 
  • Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail in executing tasks according to project specifications. 
  • Effective Communication: Ability to clearly communicate technical information within the team and to provide detailed updates to the project manager.
