Software Engineer (Ruby)

Job Description

We are expanding our product development team and are looking to hire a Ruby on Rails Developer to champion engineering efforts on our core product. You’ll be responsible for participating in feature definition sessions and implementation decisions that will bring new features to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Implement new features and technologies alongside the growing engineering team
• Use Rails 7+ to build, improve, and update our App
• Monitor the reliability and performance of relevant systems
• Write and maintain RSpec tests
• Proactively identify and participate in improving code and application functionality
• Help mentor and teach junior team members via strong development practices

Requirements

•  A passion for helping small businesses
• 5+ years of full-stack Ruby on Rails experience
• A solid understanding of web standards
• A desire to learn and embrace the newest Rails features
• Proven ability to thrive in a remote-first environment
• Demonstrate an understanding of ActiveRecord concepts and conventions
• Experience in utilizing PostgreSQL to organize and chart time-series data
• Experience developing Fintech software is a plus

Benefits

Position: Ruby on Rails Developer

Salary Range: $3000-$5000 USD + bonus

Working Hours: Flexible, but availability during regular business hours for meetings is required.

Payment Frequency: Monthly

Type of Contract: Independent Contractor
