Software Engineer (Rust)

Job Description

We are building BOB, a hybrid L2 that combines the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum. We seek a Software Engineer (Rust) to support the design, implementation, and launch of a novel BitVM bridge with Bitcoin security.

You enjoy proactively identifying and solving engineering challenges by applying your expertise in Bitcoin and cryptographic protocols. You will implement and optimize the BitVM bridge, ensuring efficient and secure execution of its core components. Working closely with the team, you’ll contribute to research-driven development, implement complex Rust solutions, and be a trusted point of contact for improving BOB.

What you will do

  • Architect and build the BOB Bitcoin bridge leveraging BitVM in close collaboration with the core team.
  • Architect and build the BOB Bitcoin security infrastructure with Babylon in close collaboration with the core team.
  • Engage in research discussions with the team on the BOB core protocols.
  • Share knowledge with other team members on BitVM and Bitcoin best practices.

Requirements

  • Three years or more of hands-on Rust development experience.
  • Measurable experience deploying protocols into production that leverage advanced cryptographic techniques (SNARKs, STARKS, MPC, …) with sizable TVL.
  • Strong interest in Bitcoin, including Bitcoin script, BitVM, and Taproot.
  • Excellent communication skills in a remote setting.
