About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned and innovative leader to own and drive our data science and machine learning efforts at TailorCare. You will set technical direction, guide the team in solutioning for exciting business problems, create clarity in scope and deliverables, communicate progress, and help your team resolve dependencies. We are a fast-paced healthcare start-up prototyping new solutions that serve patients, providers, and internal clinical operations. You will play a proactive role in identifying opportunities where data can be used to solve business problems at scale. Your leadership will guide the data science and machine learning team to move quickly and to deliver at high quality. You will partner with leaders across data engineering, analytics, medecon, product, and software engineering to make investments that meet and anticipate business needs. This role has high growth potential for personal development and for building a strong team. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a high-performing data science and machine learning team to prototype, productionize, and iterate upon solutions that deliver business impact. 
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of data science projects, including: scoping, design, modeling, validation, deployment.
  • Execute on roadmap collaborating closely with product, data engineering, analytics, medecon and other stakeholders.
  • Create a team culture of technical excellence and innovation
  • Help the team make decisions quickly and deliver at high quality
  • Identify and champion new areas of opportunity aimed at delivering value to patients and providers.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • 7+ years data science working experience including building and deploying machine learning models and applications
  • 5+ years of managing data science and/or machine learning teams
  • Proven track record of hiring, retaining, and growing strong talent
  • Strong knowledge of ML, NLP, LLM technologies, working with large data sets
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (Preferably: Data Science, Healthcare Informatics, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent related work experience
