For one of our clients, we are looking for a Sr. Rails Engineer, remotely from the United States.

As a Senior Rails Engineer, you will take ownership of technical design for complex features and large-scale projects while ensuring high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code. You’ll work on debugging, optimizing, and improving systems, with a focus on collaboration across teams to meet business goals. You will contribute to both frontend and backend efforts, mentor junior engineers, and participate in the end-to-end delivery of projects. This is a role for someone who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and building software that positively impacts users’ lives.

Accountabilities:

• Own the design and execution of complex technical projects, breaking down user stories into manageable tasks.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable Ruby on Rails code, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering work with business goals.
• Mentor and guide other engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Lead code reviews and contribute to maintaining a clean, efficient, and secure codebase.
• Participate in on-call rotations, ensuring timely responses to production issues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency with PostgreSQL or MySQL databases.
• Demonstrated success with progressively complex projects across multiple areas of code or products.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and an eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical, with an emphasis on collaboration.
• A proven track record of taking ownership and driving projects to completion with minimal supervision.
