Finding the right match for this role is a critical aspect of continuing that success.

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead a project for an upstream oil and gas company that plans to move their commercial marketing activities from a vendor to in-house. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of oil and gas operations, along with a strong background in project management, especially in managing a project for insourcing the sales and marketing functions. This role will involve overseeing all aspects of the project, from systems (i.e., ETRM and CRM) to processes, operations and organizational design. The Senior Project Manager will ensure smooth integration across workstreams, change management and implementation of the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage an entire insourcing sales and marketing project, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and timelines.
  • Oversee and coordinate all workstreams of the project, including systems, processes, infrastructure, organizational design and implementation, and the successful transition of the sales and marketing team in-house from a vendor.
  • Project oversight of the implementation of an ETRM and CRM system, critical tools used by the Commercial Department and traders to ensure seamless integration into current systems and workflows.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Commercial, IT, HR, Legal, Operations, Risk, and other departments to ensure project success.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor and track project progress, identifying and mitigating risks or issues to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Support change management activities.
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related inquiries and issues.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to manage change and navigate complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to drive results, overcome obstacles, and deliver successful outcomes.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically within sales and marketing functions.
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas operations, commodity trading, sales, and marketing, as well as the systems that support these functions.
  • Experience leading projects with a functional transition from a vendor to an in-house model.
  • Experience with CRM and Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex projects, including the ability to develop project plans, manage resources, and track progress across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with experience building and managing teams, driving cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • While not requiring deep IT technical skills, the Project Manager must have a strong understanding of how to manage a system launch from an IT perspective, ensuring successful integration with existing technologies.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Experience with ETRM software such as Openlink, Allegro, or related platform preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Experience with Smartsheet or similar Project Management software.
  • Experience with the MS Office Suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
