As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support business intelligence, analytics, and machine learning. You will ensure efficient data processing, integration, and storage while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and enhance decision-making.

Key Responsibilities 

• Collaborate with ML engineers, analysts, and other engineers for seamless data integration. 
• Understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions. 
• Simplify technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders to align with business goals. 
• Implement efficient and scalable data processing solutions. 
• Optimize data storage, retrieval, and ETL processes for data integrity and availability. 
• Design and develop cloud-based data architectures. 
• Use GitLab for version control and deployment pipelines. 
• Develop and optimize SQL queries integrating data from multiple sources. 
• Automate data pipeline processes with shell scripting and relevant tools. 
• Conduct code reviews and ensure best practices across the team.

Key Skillset Required 

• Over 4 years of experience in a Data Engineer or similar role with a demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale data solutions. 
• Extensive experience with SQL, including advanced queries. 

• Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks, including custom data processing and automation. 

• In-depth experience with Apache Spark and Apache Kafka for distributed and batch data processing. 

• Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for managing data workflows. 

• Solid experience with AWS (or another cloud provider). 

• Proficiency in GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipelines. 

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes. 

• Experience with DBT for data modeling and transformation. 

• Proficiency in Shell scripting.

• Strong analytical skills and experience working with large, complex datasets. 

• Effective communication skills with the ability to think strategically and understand broader impacts beyond individual tasks. 
• Experience working in client-facing roles, engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements and present data solutions. 
• Capability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.  

Nice to Have 

• Experience with at least one other programming language (Java, Scala). 

• Familiarity with Apache Hive for data warehousing. 

• Understanding of data governance, security best practices, and compliance regulations. 

• Experience working in agile environments and cross-functional teams.
