Job Description:  


We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and help us manage our AWS (Amazon Web Services) infrastructure and telemedicine web application.  As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with our development team to ensure smooth deployment and operation of our application. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, service-focused, detail-oriented self-starter.


Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the development team to ensure smooth deployment and operation of our application
  • Manage AWS resources using Terraform
  • Manage projects that span multiple teams
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues using Datadog
  • Automate deployment and infrastructure tasks
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with the development team to improve application performance and scalability
  • Collaborate with Product and development team on release management and development process
  • Implement and maintain security best practices
  • Work with Director of DevOps on prioritization of projects
  • Establish goals (SLO, SLA) for key operational metrics with dashboards and ongoing reporting
  • Mentor and coach junior devops engineers

Requirements: 

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps or related field
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Kubernetes and other container services like Docker, ECS, Fargate
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating system
  • Strong coding skills with a familiarity with Terraform, Python, and JavaScript
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in securing complex environments

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with Django and React
  • Other cloud experience (Google Cloud / Azure)
  • AWS certifications
  • Experience in Health Care or Telehealth
  • Office365 / Azure AD experience

In the first 30 days you will: 

  • Set up your local environment
  • Familiarize yourself with our AWS environment and best practices
  • Review our IAC (Infrastructure as Code) code base
  • Review documentation and make any necessary updates

In the first 90 days you will: 

  • Learn all processes and how to execute them
  • Help with deployment of our application
  • Write code and create documentation
  • Work with DevOps Manager on planning future projects
