Enterprise Sales Executive - Life Sciences Software

Job Description

Deep Origin’s Executive Sales Executive (ESE) will drive new business development and sales within the biotech and pharmaceutical industry for our key enterprise software products. Specifically, the ESE will be a hunter who can operate independently to secure business deals. The ESE will drive software sales and partnership deals within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in drug discovery. The ESE will gain access to C-suite biotech and pharmaceutical leadership by growing rapport with contacts that trust them as critical thinkers and problem solvers. Rapport grows from in-person, concierge service and consistent contact with prospects and clients. C-suite leadership works with our ESEs because they are trusted to deliver cutting edge solutions to their problems and the ESEs make them think about their business differently and help solve complex business problems. In sum, ESEss represent Deep Origin at the highest levels of drug discovery in biotech and pharma; they are polished, prepared, and persistent professionals.

The right person will execute commercial activities to not only drive demand for our solutions but also close deals. Our set of solutions are unique and provide the ESE with the option of SaaS or Partnership sales.

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who has experience selling in the biotech, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, desire to be successful, enthusiastic and has the ability to learn. 

Key responsibilities

  • Main responsibility is to develop business within Biotechnology & Pharma accounts through software sales and partnerships.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to generate leads, acquire new customers, and achieve sales targets for Deep Origin’s products. 
  • Identify and prospect potential clients and customers in the biotechnology and life sciences sectors through cold calling, networking, and relationship building.
  • Generate leads and use your existing contacts and experience to drive sales.
  • Integrate fluidly with the Deep Origin teams to negotiate opportunities & partnerships.
  • Work with teams to target, prospect, and develop new opportunities, as well as, identify and develop existing accounts
  • Single point of contact for C-suite, VP, and other decision maker personnel within accounts.
  • Present product features, benefits, and value propositions to key decision-makers and stakeholders to drive sales and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to support sales initiatives and meet customer needs.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product improvement and market expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in sales or business development, preferably in the biotechnology or life sciences industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites 25-30%.
  • Experience in demonstrating scientific software in a sales setting is highly desired.
  • Experience developing sales processes for new products.
  • Experience in developing and managing partnerships.
  • Experience in SaaS products within biotech.
