For one of our clients, we are looking for a Director, Business Development – Pharmaceutical & Strategic Account Management, remotely from the United States.

In this role, you will lead strategic sales efforts within the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, focusing on high-value, complex sales related to clinical trials and diagnostic technologies. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing large strategic accounts, and identifying new business opportunities while maintaining long-term client relationships. The Director will also engage in consultative selling, leveraging AI and machine learning to offer data-driven solutions that address challenges in clinical trials and support CDx/IVD strategies. Accountabilities:

  • Cultivate relationships with high-level stakeholders in pharmaceutical companies, including therapeutic leadership, clinical research teams, and data science.
  • Identify and close new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts to ensure long-term engagements.
  • Use AI and machine learning capabilities to present solutions for clinical trial challenges and CDx/IVD strategies.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Legal, Operations, and Product teams to ensure alignment with client needs and market positioning.
  • Act as a thought leader in AI and digital pathology, positioning the company as an innovative leader in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in strategic sales and account management within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or diagnostic sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of drug development, clinical trials, and companion diagnostics (CDx) or in vitro diagnostics (IVD), particularly in AI and machine learning contexts.
  • A Master’s or PhD in Molecular Biology, Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, AI, Data Science, or related fields; MBA or additional business qualifications are a plus.
  • Strong industry network within pharmaceutical, biotech, and clinical trial sectors, with a track record of consultative selling.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Comfortable using tools like Google Suite, Salesforce, and Slack.
