The Role: The Director of Customer Lifecycle will oversee the full customer journey while focusing on increasing acquisition, retention, loyalty, and overall revenue growth through customer journey mapping, personalization, and continuous optimization. This role combines tactical execution across Email/SMS and ownership of our subscription program. The ideal candidate will build and implement innovative strategies through automative flows, one-off campaigns, and thoughtful subscription initiatives to maximize retention & LTV.

The Director of Customer Lifecycle will report directly to the VP of Growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant experience in email/sms marketing with a strong background in DTC subscription programs
  • Excellent leadership and cross-department communication skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with creative designers and copywriters to develop best-in-class email designs
  • Experience translating customer personas and segments into concrete & measurable journeys
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to develop insights, spot opportunities, and inform future campaigns
  • Highly detailed orientated with exceptional organizational skills
  • Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with a data driven approach to determine strategy development by spotting opportunities to generate future campaigns
  • Comfort in fast-paced start-up environment
  • Proficiency in tools such as Klaviyo, Recharge, Skio, Shopify, Google Analytics, Northbeam, Triple Whale, Asana, Monday, Basecamp, and Figma

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute email marketing strategies supporting the overall business objectives by driving engagement through every part of the customer journey
  • Manage and optimize our subscription business by continuously testing and implementing new strategies based on on-going retention and LTV analysis
  • Oversee the end-to-end development of email campaigns, from ideation to execution (including monthly campaign development) to keep the integrity of the brand while being effective.
  • Build and optimize automated flows that provide personalized messaging based on where the customer is within their purchasing journey, purchase intent and/or historical purchasing behavior
  • Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to produce compelling, customer-centric email content and designs.
  • Continuously analyze Email/SMS and Subscription and implement strategies to improve results
  • Analyze transactional data to develop personalization to increase engagement and conversion.
  • Regularly review and refine testing methodologies based on industry trends and new technologies.
