Job Description

Account Manager – Drive Success, Build Relationships, and Make an Impact!

Location – Hybrid/remote.

Hours - Monday to Friday, 8:30-5:00. 1 day in a local office and the rest remote, however this can change on occasion.

A quick look at the role.

The Sales & Commercial Account Manager will develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, being the primary point of contact, addressing their needs and resolving any issues. Along with monitor and maintaining client satisfaction and working to improve customer retention and loyalty – not just of those account you manage but the whole department, by ensuring there right framework and culture of customer service and account management is embedded.

Furthermore you will have responsibility for creating a structure that allows the department and wider Biffa to maximise sales opportunity and growth and monitoring and measuring the success of this.

Your core responsibilities.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, serving as their main point of contact and understanding their needs. Proactively manage and nurture existing client accounts to drive client satisfaction and retention. Ensuring you have up to date knowledge and understanding or pEPR, WEEE and any other upcoming legislation. Along with being commercially aware and the implications for our clients.  
  • Drive new sales opportunities and secure new business for the company. Managing the end-to-end process, including onboarding, welcoming, and ensuring smooth transition for new clients. Whilst ensuring internally the team are trained and working within a structure to drive recruitment.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing Manager to design strategic offers and the Regulatory and Policy lead to identify new opportunities for the business. Finally working with Compliance Operations Manager as to ensuring the process and any necessary updates and training required is outlined and communicated.
  • Build the structure for continual updates to the wider business to ensure we are enacting on opportunities. Foster engagement with the wider Biffa team to encourage active participation in recruitment. Oversee and actively engage in tender management, working closely with the bid team to ensure responses align with company objectives.
  • Create, implement, and oversee the sales and marketing strategy for departments growth. Such as planning webinars and other client-facing engagements, in an organised manner ideally supported by the wider business timelines.  Furthermore ensure the ability to report on what has been achieved from the marketing and sales efforts.

Requirements

Our essential requirements.

  • Understanding of pEPR Regulations, WEEE and Batteries regulations and its practical application.
  • Extensive Account Management experience
  • Degree level qualification.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, both internal and external.
  • Proven experience in sales pipeline management, tender processes, and securing new business.
  • The ability to proactively lead projects and to meet deadlines and pull in all the necessary stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing marketing materials, reports, and presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels
