HICX is seeking a transformational VP of Engineering to lead and scale our global software team.

In this role, you will advance the world’s leading supplier data and information management software, directly shaping the customer experience, driving company growth, and reinforcing our position as a market leader. You will execute our technology strategy, champion operational excellence, and enable high-velocity product delivery. You will lead, inspire, and grow a high-performing, distributed engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will refine processes and best practices that enhance both team performance and product impact.

This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, enjoys solving complex data and integration challenges, and is passionate about leveraging technology to deliver business outcomes.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to overall company strategy and execution. You will partner closely with the CTO, who leads technology vision, architecture, and innovation.

How You’ll Drive Success

Technology & Product Execution

  • Define and implement engineering strategies, standards, and best practices to ensure high-quality, scalable, and secure software.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, the CTO, Support, and Professional Services to develop a competitive roadmap that balances technical priorities with customer-facing features.
  • Own the end-to-end execution of the roadmap, ensuring strategic planning, on-time delivery and budget adherence.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain HICX’s competitive edge.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing engineering team.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-centric culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Define department goals to achieve HICX company objectives. Define and track key performance indicators for engineering productivity and product success.
  • Communicate engineering strategies, plans, and progress clearly across technical and executive teams.
  • Contribute to company strategy as a senior executive, ensuring technology and business objectives are aligned.

Requirements

What You Bring

Proven Leadership & Execution

  • Track record of success delivering scalable enterprise software solutions on time and within budget.
  • Experience leading global engineering teams (40+ people), with success hiring, coaching, and scaling organizations.
  • Deep understanding of Agile, engineering best practices, and product lifecycle management to drive predictable, high-velocity product delivery.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution when needed.

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in senior leadership roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Preferred but not required: Experience with B2B products, low-code platforms, AI, data and integration platforms.
