Location & Remote Work

Our technology team works on the "remote-first" model, which means we are working from home with the possibility of living anywhere in Brazil. We also have the option of using QuintoAndar's offices in São Paulo and Campinas or using partner coworking spaces, both up to twice a week.

About the Position:
The main goal of the Data Governance team is to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance in the analytical environment while enabling efficient access to high-quality data across the company. This involves defining and implementing technical solutions for anonymization, access control, metadata management, and governance processes. The team works closely with Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and various stakeholders to create a secure, scalable, and self-service data environment.

Responsibilities of a Data Governance Manager at QuintoAndar:

  • Act as a reference for your team in data governance best practices and technical solutions;
  • Engage deeply with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to define governance requirements, ensuring alignment with security, privacy, and compliance regulations;
  • Establish and enforce policies and processes for data security, access control, anonymization, retention, and lineage;
  • Define a structured approach to data governance that enhances team productivity and data reliability;
  • Build and grow an excellent team by recruiting top talent and fostering their development;
  • Be hands-on when necessary, impleme

  • Building an automated anonymization solution to ensure compliance with LGPD and other privacy regulations while maintaining data usability;
  • Establishing monitoring and auditing mechanisms for data usage and access, improving transparency and risk mitigation;
  • Developing a centralized access control framework, integrating role-based access and attribute-based policies to enhance security and compliance.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Drives execution by organizing team workflows, setting governance goals, and ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards;
  • Is effective at leveraging technology to enhance data security, privacy, and governance for the analytical environment;
  • Expert in data governance concepts, frameworks, and technologies, including access control, anonymization, metadata management, lineage and compliance (GDPR, LGPD, HIPAA);
  • Proficient in Python or another major programming language, with experience implementing governance-related solutions;
  • Strong understanding of the data lifecycle, including lineage, governance, privacy, retention, anonymization, and compliance;
  • Excellent communication skills, proactively sharing insights and collaborating with different teams to implement governance solutions;
  • Experience leading data governance initiatives with broad technical scope, impacting multiple business areas;
  • Deep knowledge of cloud data governance in AWS and GCP;
  • Understand infrastructure concepts like Kubernetes, CI/CD, security, and observability;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory for this position.

You will stand out if:

  • Are an expert in implementing governance tools such as OPA, Unity Catalog, DataHub, OpenMetadata, or similar solutions;
  • Have strong experience with access control mechanisms, identity management, and encryption strategies;
  • Have strong experience with data cataloging and metadata management tools;
  • Are proficient in optimizing governance processes to balance security with usability, ensuring teams can efficiently access and use data while maintaining compliance;
  • Are passionate about staying up to date with evolving data governance technologies and methodologies, bringing innovative solutions to the team.
