Senior Product Manager AI

Job Description

About the role:

Most customers of digital analytics solutions are not able to get to and sustain value from these tools without relying on rare individuals with specific skill sets and significant "white-glove" style investment.
Generative AI, popularised in the last two years with the launch of Chat GPT and multiple platforms offering rapidly improving “large language model” services off the shelf, offers an unprecedented ability to help address these problems by:
- Reducing or replacing complex but repetitive work
- Telling stories with data to anyone
- Teach data skills in context to novice users as they get value

We believe that it is going to be crucial for companies in our analytics market to invest in generative AI with visible, customer-facing capabilities if they want to truly be the easiest tools to use. As such, Contentsquare has created an “AI Accelerator” organisation to empower our users with practical AI capabilities that make discovering and acting on insights fast and effortless.

Within this org, we are hiring for a Senior Product Manager to own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI focused on Summaries, or the workflow from data to concise, easy-to-understand story. This team will be aimed at providing capabilities that:
- Enable users to get to an insight in seconds rather than hours by summarizing complex data into understandable highlights
- Craft stories across different types of data (e.g. what did users do in aggregate? What did they say on surveys and in interviews? What did they experience as they navigated a website/app?) to streamline the work of aligning a team around an opportunity to make a digital experience easier to use and more delightful
- Personalize insights and data stories to meet the needs of users across roles and data literacy levels

We are in the business of building practical AI solutions, not demoware. Success in this role will be marked by delivering differentiated AI capabilities that solve real customer pain points and are both adopted by many customers and show sustained engagement and retention over time.

What you will do:
Innovate and Create: Keep up with the latest advances of leading AI technologies (e.g. speed, costs, and capabilities) and proactively drive iteration on the roadmap based on new use cases and opportunities unlocked by these advances
- Understand User Needs: Embrace data and deeply understand our users through leveraging Heap Product Analytics (yes, we taste our own soup!). Drive continuous product discovery and research with customers, building a clear understanding of the biggest opportunities to improve the workflows with the most pain and/or highest reach
- Prototype Early and Often: Generative AI is uniquely dependent on testing and iterating on products using real data with real customer feedback, so you will be expected to structure projects around maximal learning from customers using real prototypes as early as possible
- Strive to Delight: Collaborate with Design to ensure you're building easy-to-use, self-service, and delightful experiences for our customers.
- Ruthlessly Prioritise: Weigh up development tradeoffs, focusing on delivering product outcomes that drive key metrics of adoption, retention, and engagement.
- Partner Widely: The AI Accelerator organisation will both own its own products/features and collaborate closely with other teams, so it will be crucial for this PM to be able to develop strong relationships and partnerships across the broader Contentsquare organisation
- Be the Evangelist: Distil your strategy into a concrete roadmap, and communicate a clear internal and external message on our AI strategy to stakeholders ranging from the broader engineering/product/design org to field teams and customers.

What you’ll need to succeed
- Over 5 years of experience working as a Product Manager in an agile, cross-functional product team
- Proven experience in developing B2B SaaS products for enterprise customers, driving business impact in the form of wide adoption, engagement, and retention
- Experience creating “zero to one” products or solutions
- Ability to leverage data to align teams (requesting resources, prioritising initiatives, and communicating impact)
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, enabling effective collaboration and communication across teams
- A mindset that prioritises Minimum Viable Product principles, working backwards from key customer outcomes to drive the largest business impact
- A drive to understand the customer through continuous customer discovery and user research, at all stages of the development lifecycle
- A keen eye for usability and aesthetics, ensuring that product experiences are user-friendly, simple, and visually appealing
- Desire to work in a respectful, transparent, and collaborative environment, aligned with our company values
