At Press Loft, we’re on a mission to make PR effortless for brands and media. Our global platform connects iconic brands, like B&Q, Laura Ashley and The Natural History Museum, with leading journalists, generating over 50,000 pieces of press coverage every year. We combine the stability and experience of 20 years in the industry with the agility and innovation of a start-up, constantly pushing the boundaries to make PR smarter and more effective.

We’re a small, close-knit team of 10, backed by an amazing network of freelancers. Collaboration, curiosity, and proactive problem-solving are at the heart of what we do. As our sole designer, you’ll have the creative freedom to shape the user experience and visual identity of our platform, working directly with the founder, senior developers, marketing, and customer service teams.

Preferred experience & skills

While not essential, experience in the following areas would be highly beneficial:

  • Bachelor's degree in a design, product or related field.
  • B2B SaaS: Experience designing for business-to-business software platforms, particularly in a SaaS environment.
  • Experienced in a sole designer role: Experienced and comfortable working as the only designer, taking ownership of the design function, and advocating for best practices within a cross-functional team.

Key responsibilities

  • End-to-end product design: Own the design process from ideation to implementation, working closely with the founder, developers, and other team members to scope features and define roadmaps.
  • User research: Conduct surveys, interviews, and usability testing as needed to gather insights and improve features.
  • Design & prototyping: Use Figma, Creative Cloud, and other tools to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. Work with components and design systems in Figma to create scalable and consistent design solutions, while continuously refining and improving them for better usability and efficiency.
  • Cross-team collaboration: Work with marketing to assist with email designs and graphics, support customer service by improving product usability, and collaborate with data analysts to enhance reporting interfaces.
  • Quality assurance: Partner with developers to ensure the final product aligns with design standards and delivers a seamless user experience.
  • Design advocacy: Champion design best practices, workflows, and processes to continuously improve user experience across the company.
  • Metrics & goal setting: Help define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of design solutions. Collaborate with the team to set clear design goals and use data-driven insights to optimize product performance and user experience.

Skills & qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in a product design role (preferred, but open to candidates with a strong portfolio and growth mindset).
  • Tools & technologies: Proficient in Figma, Creative Cloud, Miro and HotJar. Experience with GA4, Redash and other metrics tools is a plus.
  • Workstyle: Agile and adaptable. You should be comfortable managing multiple projects, pivoting quickly as priorities shift, and communicating timelines effectively.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team.
  • Customer-centric: Able to understand customer's goals and problems quickly and optimise their site experience.
  • Personality: Positive, collaborative, and self-motivated. You thrive in a supportive team environment.
