We are looking for a Contract WordPress Developer to join our team. This role requires a highly responsive and skilled developer who enjoys building within the native WordPress editor and values a long-term partnership that could evolve into an employee role.

What You’ll Do

  • Build, manage, and support WordPress websites for internal and external clients.
  • Develop websites using the Kadence and Genesis WordPress themes
  • Create WordPress websites using clean, efficient, and modern coding practices
  • Ensure all projects meet defined requirements, schedules, and deadlines
  • Train clients on how to manage and maintain website functionality
  • Meet with and communicate directly with clients to gather requirements and provide updates
  • Perform monthly website maintenance to ensure optimal site performance and security
  • Implement and customize Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
  • Work with third-party APIs to integrate necessary features and functionalities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly
  • Collaborate with designers, marketers, and other developers to deliver outstanding websites

Ideal Candidates Will Have the Following Skills

  • Experience with Kadence and Genesis WordPress themes
  • Strong knowledge of the native WordPress editor (Block Editor/Gutenberg)
  • 2+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience
  • Familiarity with WooCommerce and basic eCommerce integrations
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, PHP, and JavaScript/jQuery
  • Experience working with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
  • Comfortable with API integrations
  • Proficient in Website Accessibility 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience with website performance optimization
  • Comfortable providing client training and ongoing support
  • Must be highly responsive and proactive in communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hosting platforms like WP Engine
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices
  • Experience with membership sites and LMS platforms (e.g., LearnDash, LifterLMS, MemberPress)
  • Familiar with project management tools like Basecamp, ClickUp, or Trello
  • Ability to handle website backups, security, and performance optimization
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote environment
  • Ability to work during Eastern or Pacific time zones
