Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity to enhance the reliability of our systems, improve our security posture, and optimize cost efficiency. This role will be key in optimizing our infrastructure, ensuring HIPAA/HiTrust compliance, and strengthening our security framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Reliability & DevOps: Implement and maintain secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure in Azure (primary) and GCP (secondary).
  • Security & Compliance: Enhance the security posture and ensure compliance with HIPAA and HiTrust standards.
  • Infrastructure Optimization: Conduct a comprehensive review of the current infrastructure, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
  • Monitoring & Incident Response: Build and oversee highly available, fault-tolerant systems, implementing robust monitoring, logging, and incident response processes.
  • Tools & Automation: Evaluate current DevOps/SRE tools, optimize their use, and recommend new tools where necessary for automation and efficiency.
  • Secure Fax & EHR Integration: Work with EHR security protocols and secure fax solutions to support health tech operations.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal engineering teams (3-4 in-house developers) and outsourced development teams to foster scalable, security-focused infrastructure strategies.

Requirements

  • Cloud Experience: Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure (primary) and familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (secondary).
  • Security & Compliance: Knowledge of HIPAA, HiTrust, and best security practices in health tech environments.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform, ARM templates, or equivalent tools for cloud infrastructure automation.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Proficiency with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, or similar.
  • DevOps & CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools to streamline deployments.
  • Software Stack: Experience with Microsoft technologies and related security configurations.
  • Automation: Strong scripting and automation skills with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Secure Messaging & EHR Integration: Familiarity with secure fax technologies and security protocols for Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Incident & Problem Management: Mastery of SRE principles, including proactive system health checks and root cause analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in healthcare technology environments.
  • Prior experience with cost optimization strategies in cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
  • Understanding of privacy regulations and security-based access controls.
