About the role:
As the Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a group of talented, passionate software engineers. You’ll exert technical leadership by investing in their individual growth, managing the team operations, and participating in their day-to-day work. You’ll partner closely with multiple Product Managers to craft and maintain a strong vision for our software products, evaluating business impact and technical tradeoffs to support two strategic charters – New Homes Insurance Core and New Homes CX & Sales.
What will you do?
Lead a team of eight engineers responsible for one of Hippo’s two strategic charters.
Mentor both senior and junior engineers, fostering their growth for higher impact and effective teamwork.
Collaborate with talented Product Managers to manage the team’s project roadmap, ensuring a balance of technical excellence, agility, and user benefit.
Influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders within Hippo, including Sales, Retention, UX Design, QA, Data, and Finance.
Demonstrate technical leadership with a data-driven approach, emphasizing excellent execution and high-quality software delivery.
Coordinate with teams in our global locations across the US and Poland.

Have a high level of technical proficiency with some of Hippo’s tech stack, including JavaScript/Node.js, React, and Python.
Possess strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and systems design.
