Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking a motivated Technical Writer to support our Game Warden Product team. We are a fast-growing entrepreneurial team working at the convergence of technology and national security. The work will be dynamic and wide-ranging supporting Product Managers and Engineers in the technical documentation of our current product, Game Warden, and potential future product developments.
Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.
What You’ll Do
Content Development: Create and maintain user guides, technical documentation, release notes, FAQs, and training materials for Second Front’s product suite, including Game Warden.
Help Center Ownership: Oversee and maintain Second Front’s Help Center, ensuring all resources are current, accessible, and valuable to users.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineers, product managers, security, and other stakeholders to capture and clarify technical information.
Documentation Strategy: Establish and maintain a documentation strategy that supports the product lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and version control.
Knowledge Base Management: Oversee and maintain the company’s knowledge base to ensure it is up-to-date and accessible to both internal teams and external customers.
Process Improvement: Proactively identify gaps in documentation and implement continuous improvements to support users and stakeholders.
Foster Customer Advocacy: Develop resources and tools that empower customers to confidently use Second Front products.
Skills You’ll Bring to Our Team
5+ years of experience creating product documentation for technical software solutions, preferably in DevSecOps, cloud-based platforms, or government compliance tools.
Familiarity with concepts like DevSecOps, CI/CD Pipelines, Kubernetes, Cloud Platforms, REST APIs and Microservices, and Infrastructure as Code
Ability to work closely with engineers, UX designers, and product managers in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Proficiency with content management systems, version control systems (like Git), and documentation tools such as Confluence.
Ability to write with precision, ensuring clarity and accuracy of technical details.
A self-starter with a proactive mindset who isn't afraid to take initiative and suggest improvements.
Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non technical stakeholders; translating complex technical information into clear business terms for stakeholders.
Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced, result-oriented environment.
Intimacy driving projects from inception to execution in an ambiguous environment with a lean and incremental approach.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in Cybersecurity or DevSecOps
Understanding of security frameworks, principles, standards, tools, and best practices, including vulnerability management, FedRAMP, NIST, SIEM, SOC, etc
Strong interest in matters of national security
Hands on experience with Gitlab, Markdown and MkDocs
Exposure with Agile Development methodologies
Prior experience in the public sector (government or defense) or experience in highly regulated industries
