About the role

We are seeking a passionate Security Engineer to join the Nitra team. As a Security Engineer at Nitra, you will design, implement, and manage security solutions that protect our clients' critical assets, including applications, data, personnel, and systems. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects, collaborating closely with our clients and internal teams to deliver exceptional results. This role will require communication with clients about control requirements and risks.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and provide expert guidance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for security-related questions and concerns.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of our security services.
  • Develop, deploy, and operate security mechanisms within client environments.
  • Guide/lead mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities and threats in client environments.
  • Play a significant role in the design and execution of the security operations processes, procedures, and runbooks.
  • Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents, respond to security breaches, and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

What do you need?

  • At least 3+ years of experience in a hands-on cybersecurity role.
  • Experience using native security services from either AWS and Azure.
  • Knowledge of common security frameworks and controls (NIST, CIS).
  • Experience investigating security events/incidents and determining root causes
  • Understanding of data protection mechanisms, including encryption.
  • Be a self-starter with an initiative for action; we do not micromanage.
  • Speak confidently about your positions and recommendations backed by sound judgment and data.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment where open communication and constructive feedback are valued and actively contribute to individual and collective growth.

  • Experience with consulting
  • Experience with MSFT Defender and Sentinel
  • Experience with continuous compliance solutions
  • Experience with integrating security into continuous integration/deployment tools.
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using Terraform.
  • System administration experience for servers and networking appliances.
