What your new team and job look like...
The Moodle Marketplace is a new product. The platform will connect creators of Moodle plugins and integrations with Moodle users who are looking for free and paid solutions to extend the functionality of their Moodle sites. It improves on the existing Moodle Plugins Directory, and will introduce e-commerce capabilities to allow the purchase of paid plugins directly on the Marketplace. We’re looking for an experienced UX Designer to join the new Marketplace team.
You will contribute to the overall success of the Moodle ecosystem. As the UX Designer, you will conduct UX research and create designs and prototypes for the entire product experience. You will play a significant role in shaping the Moodle Marketplace product, and the continued improvement of the platform. Ideally, you will bring an understanding of e-commerce UX best practices, customer research and testing methods.
You will be part of a team that values collaboration, learning and reflection, and is always open to improvement as a team and as individuals.
At Moodle, no two days will be the same, but in this role, your day may involve:

- Working collaboratively with UX Researchers and Content Designers on larger research and content design initiatives.
UX Design
- Designing key user experiences for the initial Marketplace MVP.
- Ensuring usability and accessibility of the Marketplace solution.
- Working with the team to identify and propose opportunities to optimise the Marketplace to achieve defined product objectives and KPIs.
Support the product development
- Actively communicating and problem-solving with the Marketplace development team at all stages of the research/design process.
- Communicating rationale behind design decisions, and securing buy-in from team members, the Moodle community, and other stakeholders.
- Sharing research, designs, and prototypes with the Marketplace team and more broadly across Moodle when appropriate.
- Participating in design critiques and knowledge sharing with the broader Moodle UX team.
Work as a team to continuously improve
- Collaborating with the broader Moodle UX team on continued process improvement and advancement of the UX practice at Moodle
