User Experience (UX) Developer - Contingent

Aretum is looking for a dedicated User Engagement/User Experience (UE/UX) Developer to enhance our innovative team. In this role, you will focus on improving user interaction and overall experience across our suite of applications, primarily serving government clients. You will analyze user engagement patterns, conduct usability testing, and implement design solutions based on user feedback and analytics.

As a UE/UX Developer at Aretum, you will work closely with UX designers, developers, and stakeholders to create engaging user experiences. Your dual role will require you to not only design intuitive interfaces but also to develop functional front-end solutions that improve usability and drive user adoption. You will play a crucial part in refining the user journey and ensuring application compliance with usability standards and accessibility requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct user research, interviews, and usability tests to gather insights and drive design decisions.
• Design wireframes, user flows, and prototypes that reflect a deep understanding of user needs and behaviors.
• Develop and implement clean, efficient code for front-end applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with UX designers and developers to integrate visual designs with functional elements effectively.
• Apply best practices for responsive design and ensure cross-device compatibility.
• Track user engagement metrics and analyze data to inform design revisions and improvements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest UE/UX trends, tools, and technologies to continuously enhance our applications.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and embraces flexibility.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a user experience or user engagement role, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
• Proficient in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and familiarity with modern front-end frameworks.
• Experience working with Vue.js
• Experience in conducting user research and usability testing.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices for responsive web design.
• Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, or Figma.
• Ability to communicate design concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and Section 508 compliance.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently as well.
• Bachelor's Degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Familiarity with analytics tools to track user engagement and derive insights.
• Prior experience working with government contracts is a plus.
