Job Description

Job Summary:

The Creative Director (CD) serves as the custodian of the brand, overseeing all digital and physical representations. From conceptualization to execution, the CD is responsible for ensuring a consistent and compelling consumer experience across B2C, B2B, and marketplace channels.

Initially, the CD will collaborate closely with the owners and leadership to establish brand guidelines and assets. Once the foundation is in place, the CD will prioritize design projects, generate ideas to drive sales, and elevate the brand continuously.

As the design workload grows, the CD will build and manage a Creative Team, ensuring all projects align with the company’s marketing strategy and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Creative Leadership:
    • Own creative ideation and execution across all sales and marketing channels, including the website, retail, Amazon, social media, email/SMS marketing, packaging, and product design.
    • Develop and maintain a cohesive visual identity, evolving and advancing the brand as needed.
    • Lead the design direction and ensure brand standards are upheld in all creative assets.
  2. Collaboration:
    • Partner with the Leadership Team to prioritize and execute design projects aligned with marketing strategies.
    • Participate in weekly leadership meetings to provide insights and help build the creative project pipeline.
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align designs with business needs.
  3. Team Development:
    • Hire, mentor, and manage a team of designers as the workload grows.
    • Guide the team in executing creative projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
  4. Campaign Development:
    • Conceptualize and design assets 
    • Develop and maintain a cohesfor paid media campaigns.
    • Ensure brand-building and storytelling align with current trends and usability standards.
  5. Process Improvement:
    • Stay at the cutting edge of AI design tools to improve efficiency and output.
    • Ensure usability, accessibility, and conversion rate optimization are integrated into all designs.

Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience designing for physical products, including retail packaging.
  • Knowledge of Amazon A+ content 
  • Proven experience designing for eCommerce websites or Amazon platforms (ideally both).
  • Expertise in digital graphic design with a focus on UX/UI and conversion rate optimization.
  • 8+ years of experience as a graphic designer. 
  • 4+ years of experience leading a creative department.
  • Strong knowledge of typography, color theory, and design principles.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Ability to manage and nurture creatives in-house and externally as needed.
  • Proven track record of creating and executing compelling brand campaigns across all channels.
  • Collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to receive and integrate feedback.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and effectively manage projects and time.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience building a product-brand from the ground up.
  • Familiarity with the complete lifecycle of product design, from ideation to launch.
  • Background in combining physical product design with digital assets for cohesive branding.
