Job Description

Why Mozilla?

Mozilla Corporation is the non-profit-backed technology company that has shaped the internet for the better over the last 25 years. We make pioneering brands like Firefox, the privacy-minded web browser. Now, with more than 225 million people around the world using our products each month, we’re shaping the next 25 years of technology and helping to reclaim an internet built for people, not companies. Our work focuses on diverse areas including AI, social media, security and more. And we’re doing this while never losing our focus on our core mission – to make the internet better for people.

The Mozilla Corporation is wholly owned by the non-profit 501(c) Mozilla Foundation. This means we aren’t beholden to any shareholders — only to our mission. Along with thousands of volunteer contributors and collaborators all over the world, Mozillians design, build and distribute open-source software that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms.

About this team and role:

Mozilla Ads is building privacy-forward advertising that funds an open, people-first internet. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager, Advertising Products (individual contributor) to help lead the development of Mozilla’s next generation advertising infrastructure. This infrastructure will power multiple performance ad placements across search and display - think real-time decisioning, partner integration, privacy-preserving personalization, and reliability at scale.

What you’ll do:

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Drive the vision, strategy, and execution for our privacy-preserving advertising products (e.g., targeting, search suggestion monetization, ad formats).
  • Innovative Solutions: Drive rapid hypothesis testing and experiment-led product development to improve ad relevance, user experience, and advertiser ROI-while preserving privacy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Orchestrate execution across Ads Engineering, Data Science, Firefox Platform, Design, Legal/Policy, Trust & Safety, Finance, and GTM. Convert strategy into crisp product requirements and cross-team plans.
  • Design & Engineering Partnership: Co-create user-first ad experiences and performant services (decisioning, delivery, measurement) that meet strict latency, quality, and accessibility standards. Provide clear problem framing and success criteria; give actionable design and technical feedback that raises product quality and delivery velocity.
  • Business Development: Partner with BD/Sales to shape deal structures and launch new supply and demand integrations (e.g., PMP, SSP/DSP, measurement). Define product terms, API/SDK requirements and success metrics: influence pricing and packaging; steward marquee partnerships from tech evaluation through scaled adoption.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Establish the experimentation and measurement backbone for Ads (instrumentation, event quality, dashboards). Set and track KPIs such as RPM/eCPM, CTR, fill rate, viewability, latency SLOs, advertiser retention, and user sentiment/trust signals. Use privacy-preserving analytics to guide roadmap bets and protect the user experience with guardrails.
  • Effective Communication: Deliver exec-ready narratives, PRDs, and decision memos that clarify trade-offs and drive alignment. Represent Ads strategy and results to Mozilla leadership, cross-functional partners, and external stakeholders; set a strong operating cadence for multi-team programs.
  • Industry Awareness: Anticipate and respond to platform and regulatory shifts (e.g., cookie deprecation, privacy standards, ATT, IAB specs). Continuously translate market and ecosystem signals into strategy, ensuring Mozilla leads on privacy-preserving advertising.
  • Thought Leadership: Champion Mozilla’s point of view on trustworthy, user-respecting ads and open standards. Influence industry forums and standards, publish insights, and build relationships that elevate Mozilla’s role in the ecosystem.

What you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years in product management or (adjacent technical roles) including 5+ years building performance advertising products at meaningful scale.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of technical products from concept to launch to iteration-with clear business and reliability outcomes.
  • Experience in two-sided marketplaces (bidding, ranking, pacing, measurement).
  • Working proficiency with data and experimentation (SQL, dashboards, A/B testing design, interpreting causal and observational results).
  • Track record of influencing across multiple teams (Engineering, Research, Data, Security/Privacy, GTM) without direct authority.
  • Exceptional written communication: PRDs, decision documents, and executive level narrative storytelling.
  • Commitment to our values:
    • Welcoming differences
    • Being relationship-minded
    • Practicing responsible participation
    • Having grit

What sets you apart:

  • Experience working with content/surface teams on ad format design and layout.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous 0-1 environments and scaling successful bets from 1-n.
  • Passion for ads monetization, privacy, and user agency.
  • Strong technical fluency with ML systems (training vs. inference, feature engineering, evaluations, drift, model/version management) and modern cloud/data stacks.

What you’ll get:

  • Generous performance-based bonus plans to all eligible employees - we share in our success as one team
  • Rich medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous retirement contributions with 100% immediate vesting (regardless of whether you contribute)
  • Quarterly all-company wellness days where everyone takes a pause together
  • Country specific holidays plus a day off for your birthday
  • One-time home office stipend
  • Annual professional development budget
  • Quarterly well-being stipend
  • Considerable paid parental leave
  • Employee referral bonus program
  • Other benefits (life/AD&D, disability, EAP, etc. - varies by country)
