Job Description

We are seeking two Cloud Operations Engineers to support the growth and evolution of the Playa platform — a modern desktop application presentation platform that brings mature desktop services into the cloud. You will play a key role in onboarding products onto Playa and accelerating the delivery of product add-ons, helping deliver seamless, cloud-based experiences to customers across devices.

Playa is a cloud-based platform designed to deliver desktop applications to users anywhere, anytime, on any device. Built primarily on Microsoft Azure, it leverages advanced technologies such as Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) to enable remote application delivery at scale.

The platform represents a strategic transformation, starting with products like Sage 50 US, and is evolving rapidly through innovative implementations that influence the future direction of AVD.



Key Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain Azure-based cloud infrastructure powering the Playa platform.
  • Manage and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
  • Assist in the onboarding of desktop products onto the Playa platform.
  • Support the implementation and rollout of new product features and add-ons.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application-related issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support .NET desktop application deployment and operation in the cloud.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability, ensuring optimal user experience.
  • Contribute to automation and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Work within SCRUM/Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Document operational procedures, configurations, and best practices.

    • Job requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure, or application support.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with .NET desktop application environments and deployment considerations.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security principles.
  • Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments.
  • Basic scripting or automation skills (e.g., PowerShell) are a plus.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and incident management tools.
