Role Overview

We are looking for a highly technical, proactive Product / Project Manager with excellent communication skills to lead a dedicated “pod” (team of 3–4 engineers) working closely with Tapi, a fast-growing property management software company.

This is not a traditional Project Manager role. Tapi operates under a model where Product/Project Managers are highly versatile and wear multiple hats. You will act as the primary bridge between the DaCodes development team, Tapi’s internal teams (Sales, Customer Success, Core Engineering), and, critically, end customers in the United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

Pod Ownership (Project Management)

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple software integrations (typically 4 to 6 weeks each).
  • Manage the team’s backlog and capacity using Linear, ensuring continuous allocation and maximizing team utilization (“filling the Tetris blocks”).
  • Proactively provide visibility on roadmap progress, time estimates, scope creep, and unexpected technical issues.

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  • Act as a Sales Engineer or Forward Deployed Engineer.
  • Meet directly with Tapi’s clients (Property Managers in the UK) and internal sales/support teams (e.g., Taylor, Anna) to understand how they use their legacy platforms (SME, RePIT, ALTO, etc.).
  • Translate operational needs into detailed technical specifications and integration plans for the development team.

Technical Collaboration & Data Modeling

  • Work closely with Tapi’s Core Engineering team (especially leaders like Steven and Ken) to align integrations with the platform’s evolving engine and central data model.
  • Identify gaps or challenges in third-party data structures and propose standardized solutions.

Communication & Team Culture

  • Actively participate in showcases (weekly/biweekly demos) to present pod progress to the broader organization.
  • Maintain fluid, asynchronous communication via Slack, fully integrating as part of Tapi’s internal team.

Requirements

Technical & Methodological Experience

  • Proven experience managing software projects using agile methodologies (without being overly bureaucratic or process-heavy).
  • Strong proficiency with product/project management tools, preferably Linear.
  • Solid technical understanding of software integrations, APIs, and database/data modeling. You are not required to code, but you must be able to communicate effectively with backend engineers.
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with integration platforms such as Prismatic, and general exposure to languages like Elixir or Ruby to understand the client’s core technical context.

Soft Skills

  • Advanced / Bilingual English: Mandatory. You will work daily with teams in New Zealand, Australia, and clients in the UK.
  • Radical autonomy: Ability to operate independently. The client expects the pod to self-manage and proactively seek work.
  • Strong client-facing skills: Empathy, patience, and the ability to extract meaningful insights from users working with outdated or poorly structured systems.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to navigate a fast-growing startup environment, tolerate ambiguity, and adapt to evolving data architecture.

Working Conditions

  • Availability to overlap working hours with the UK operations/support team (ideally from LATAM, leveraging favorable time zone differences).
