Clean Power Alliance (CPA) is Southern California’s locally operated not-for-profit default electricity provider for 38 communities within Los Angeles and Ventura counties and the 4th largest electricity provider in the State of California. We provide clean renewable energy at competitive rates to over three million residents and businesses through approximately one million customer accounts. 

 What You’ll Do 

CPA is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated professional with experience in community resilience and the  development of solar and storage back-up systems. In this role, the Senior Project Manager, Infrastructure Delivery will be a critical member of the Power Ready project delivery team. This role will manage various elements of the implementation of Power Ready including vendor contract management for the Design Build Contractor, Owner’s Representative, and Operations and Maintenance Contractors including tracking construction schedules and deliverables to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery. The Senior Project Manager, Infrastructure Delivery will also facilitate the execution of member agency participation documents and ensure appropriate communication with member agency site hosts.  

 Who You’ll Work With 

The Senior Project Manager, Infrastructure Delivery reports to the Senior Director, Customer Programs within the Customer Programs team. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with teams including but not limited to Customer Programs, Power Supply, Government Affairs, Legal, and Strategic Sourcing to support program implementation and advance CPA’s clean energy initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Project Management software including but not limited to Microsoft Project. 
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. 
  • Ability to fully own tasks and processes with minimal oversight. 
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities to meet deadlines and escalate key issues. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable presenting to senior leaders/officials and in public settings.   
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling, time management skills and attention to detail.  
  • Excellent analytical skills 
  • Experience using data visualization tools and software (i.e., Tableau, Power BI) preferred. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Project Management: Lead end-to-end technical project management for behind-the-meter rooftop or carport solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects from early development through commercial operation, including coordination of ongoing operations and maintenance. Oversee project schedules, procurement, budgets, invoicing, and documentation. Responsible for exercising independent judgment in identifying and resolving risks related to scope, schedule, and cost. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for external technical stakeholders, including design-build contractors, owner’s representatives, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) providers, and consultants. Lead coordination across internal teams, customers, contractors, utilities, and permitting jurisdictions to resolve technical, scheduling, and budget-related issues. Assist with CPA customer and member agency communications. Maintain strong working relationships and provide project updates, budget summaries, and recommendations to internal leadership and key stakeholders. 
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Apply knowledge of industry best practices and market trends to support project execution and inform continuous improvement of technical standards. Provide technical feedback from operating assets to improve future designs and contract specifications. Responsible for project planning by developing project plans, schedules, and implementation approaches for new and ongoing initiatives. 
  • Data Analytics: Manage the collection, analysis, and reporting of project data to support project oversight and performance tracking. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate tracking of project milestones and timely reporting. Support the development and refinement of reporting tools used for internal updates and leadership reporting. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve project delivery processes, tools, and reporting frameworks. Recommend and support implementation of process enhancements based on project experience and stakeholder feedback to increase efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications 

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of project management experience in renewable energy 
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Scheduler, Smartsheet. Sitemark, Procore, Autodesk, Oracle Primavera, PS Project, or similar. 
  • Degree in engineering, business, or related technical field and equivalent work experience in utility scale solar and/or BESS projects. 
  • Proven experience in project management, specifically within the energy, utility, or construction sector. 
  • Experience with relevant products and specifications including but not limited to PV modules, BESS systems, microgrid controllers, transformers, Inverters, Trackers, Substation components, etc. 
  • Understanding the execution sequence of development of utility scale and/or behind the meter solar and BESS projects. 

 

Work Location 

This position is eligible for either Hybrid or Remote options. The Hybrid option requires attendance in our Downtown Los Angeles office on a full-time basis 2- 3 days per week on days determined by CPA, with work location on the remaining days either in office or remote. This includes a transportation allowance. The Remote option requires you to be available to attend full-time in office days and/or field events within Los Angeles and Ventura Counties in accordance with the needs of the company that may start as early as 8:30am at least 2 days per week. The Remote & Hybrid options require full-time in-person attendance at organization or team-wide events 3 times per year for 3-5 days per event. All staff are required to work during CPA’s office hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm PST.      

 

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $120,008.17-$180,012.25, with exact compensation to be determined by Clean Power Alliance, dependent on experience. Benefits include health care, a 401(k)-like match program, paid vacation, and sick leave. This is not a civil service position; however, all CPA employees are required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests form, also known as the Form 700.
