Job Description

CNC Agency (formerly Coffee ’n Clothes) is an experiential marketing agency born from culture and built for connection. We create experiences, stories, and products that people love and that help brands grow. We put people first and design accordingly, seamlessly blending strategy, creativity, production, and culture to turn ideas into experiences that move people. Because amazing things happen to brands when they build for humans, not algorithms.

We are currently seeking an Art Director who is responsible for translating approved creative vision into a cohesive and compelling visual language across experiential projects. Working under the direction of a Creative Director or Executive Creative Director, this role focuses on how an experience looks, feels, and comes to life, owning the visual expression while partnering closely with designers to ensure craft, consistency, and quality across all touchpoints.

This is a hands-on role centered on visual development and direction, not high-level concept strategy or narrative development.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Interpret creative vision and frameworks set by the Creative Director into a clear, cohesive visual direction
  • Develop mood boards, look-and-feel explorations, and visual references that define the aesthetic of an experience
  • Establish materiality, color palettes, lighting approaches, textures, propping, and décor direction
  • Define visual systems and rules that guide graphic and 3D designers across all touchpoints
  • Collaborate closely with designers to guide the execution of environments, brand elements, and experiential assets
  • Integrate thoughtful visual details that reinforce the brief, including branded moments, messaging, and environmental storytelling
  • Review and refine design outputs to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across all elements
  • Partner with Creative Directors to ensure visual execution aligns with overall creative intent
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback to designers while elevating the overall level of craft
  • Owns the visual expression of the work, not the overarching creative strategy, concept, rationale, or copy
  • Execution-focused role that drives the look and feel of a project from direction through delivery
  • Plays a critical role in bridging creative vision and design execution, enabling Creative Directors to focus on leadership and big-picture thinking

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in art direction or visual design, ideally within an experiential, agency, or brand environment
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating ability to define and direct visual systems across physical and environmental experiences
  • Proven experience developing look-and-feel, materiality, and spatial/visual language for branded environments
  • Strong understanding of typography, composition, color theory, and spatial design
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Figma and 3D workflows is a plus
  • Experience guiding designers and collaborating across disciplines (graphic, 3D, production)
  • Detail-oriented with a strong eye for craft, consistency, and finish
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate visual decisions and provide constructive feedback
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with multiple workstreams

The salary range for this role is $90,000.00  to $125,000.00. Where a candidate falls within this band will depend on a combination of factors, including relevant experience, demonstrated performance, specific skills, geographical location, and internal equity. We regularly benchmark roles to market data and ensure pay is aligned with the role’s scope and impact.

At CNC Agency, great ideas come from diverse perspectives. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can bring their full selves to work.
