The Calling:

Branching Minds is looking for mission-driven Product leaders to help us empower educators and improve student outcomes at scale. 

To ensure we find the right fit for our current roadmap, we are opening this search to candidates at both the Product Manager and Senior Product Manager levels. Whether you are an execution-focused Product Manager (click to view PM JD) or a strategic Senior Product Manager (click to view Sr. PM JD), you will play a critical role in evolving our MTSS platform.

One candidate will be selected for this hire. We will use a defined internal rubric to evaluate your experience, skills, and strategic depth to determine which level best aligns with your expertise.

What You Will Achieve:

In this role, you will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our products, our users, and the K12 educational technology  landscape.
  • Build strong relationships with your engineering and design partners.
  • Take ownership of a feature area, lead discovery sessions, and begin translating user needs into crisp product requirements.
  • Clarify educator needs and partner with design and engineering to ship high-quality software that solves real-world problems for teachers and students.
  • Maintain a visible backlog of workflow, UX, and behavioral debt.

If hired at the Senior Product Manager level, you will also be expected to:

  • Lead the development and enhancement of our products, ensuring solutions are innovative and scalable.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our strategic goals and the competitive landscape.
  • Identify key opportunities for platform enhancement and start defining a long-term vision for your product area.
  • Establish a clear, prioritized roadmap and lead cross-functional teams toward the delivery of high-impact features.
  • Leverage a deep understanding of the K-12 education landscape to identify emerging industry trends and competitor moves.
  • Shape company strategies and offer visionary guidance and recommendations to prospects and leadership.

Requirements

Why We Want You:

For the Product Manager role, you bring:

  • 2–5 years of experience in Product Management, Product Delivery, or a similar role.
  • Experience partnering closely with engineering teams in agile environments.
  • Ability to work and succeed remotely supported by a company where remote work has been a way of life since day one.
  • Strong written communication skills, especially in problem framing and requirements writing.
  • Comfortable owning ambiguity, learning from feedback, and making product decisions with incomplete information.
  • Deep empathy for educators, students, and administrators, with a passion for improving educational outcomes through technology.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making mindset.

For the Senior Product Manager role, you bring all of the above, plus:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in the EdTech industry or related fields.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing SaaS products, preferably in the K-12 education space.
  • Strong understanding of educational best practices.
  • Experience working in agile development environments 
  • A keen eye for spotting and resolving gaps, roadblocks and challenges that impact collaboration and progress 
  • A curious and action-oriented mindset with a knack for problem-solving and confident decision-making

Lucky Us If You:

(No biggie if you don’t)

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Have experience in K-12 edtech, particularly with SIS, assessment, behavior, or MTSS workflows.
  • Understand Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) frameworks well.
  • Are familiar with data-intensive or compliance-focused products, such as those in education, healthcare, or government.
  • Have collaborated with UX research or usability testing to guide product decisions.
  • Are comfortable working with platform or data engineering teams and considering technical constraints when shaping product strategies.

Interview Process:

If we are a match you can expect a total of 5 steps in the interview process after the initial application

  • 30-minute Video/Phone Interview with the Vice President of Product
  • An assessment/written exercise
  • 30-minute Video/Phone Interview with the Sr. UX Designer
  • 30-minute Video/Phone Interview with the President of BRM
  • 60-minute Final Round Panel Interview with cross-functional members of the leadership team

  • Base annual compensation for the Product Manager role is $90,000.00 - $117,000.00, based on experience and expertise as well as geographic location.
  • Base annual compensation for the Sr. Product Manager role is $107,000.00 - $139,00.000, based on experience and expertise as well as geographic location.
