We are seeking a detail-oriented NERC/Regulatory Compliance Analyst to support our regulatory compliance program for generation assets, including Inverter-Based Resources (IBR), and help ensure adherence to applicable NERC Reliability Standards, regional requirements, and other relevant compliance obligations. Depending on the organization’s footprint and market participation, this role may also support compliance programs such as ERCOT Protocols, ERCOT Operating Guides, PUCT requirements, and other ISO/RTO or state regulatory frameworks.

This role will assist with compliance monitoring, evidence collection and retention, internal assessments, audit preparation, self-certifications, regulatory reporting, and ongoing program maintenance for generation facilities. The ideal candidate will support compliance efforts related to Generator Owner and Generator Operator obligations, with awareness of evolving regulatory expectations applicable to inverter-based resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support NERC and other applicable regulatory compliance programs for generation assets, including IBR facilities
  • Track regulatory requirements, deadlines, periodic deliverables, and reporting obligations
  • Organize, review, and maintain compliance evidence and documentation
  • Assist with audits, spot checks, RFIs, self-certifications, and other regulatory reviews
  • Review procedures, technical documents, and internal controls for compliance alignment
  • Identify potential compliance gaps and support corrective actions and mitigation tracking
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts to internal stakeholders
  • Support compliance activities related to Generator Owner (GO) and Generator Operator (GOP) responsibilities, as applicable
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of compliance obligations associated with generation operations, event response, disturbance reporting, modeling, and emerging IBR-related reliability requirements
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, asset management, and regulatory personnel to support ongoing compliance readiness

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in NERC/regulatory compliance, electric utility operations, generation compliance, market compliance, or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements applicable to generation facilities, including inverter-based resources
  • Knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards and familiarity with compliance programs such as ERCOT, PUCT, or other utility regulatory frameworks preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members who are geographically dispersed
  • Proven ability to stay connected and maintain communication across distributed teams in hybrid or remote settings
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Compensation, Location, and Benefits

Highly competitive total compensation from one of North America’s leading energy storage developers, owners and operators. Flexible, work from home or hybrid work from Plus Power’s offices in San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, New York, Palm Beach and Birmingham. 

The expected salary range* for this position begins at $90,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic labor market, and other factors consistent with applicable law. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program.
