We are looking for a Senior Python Engineer to contribute to one of our longest-running and most successful projects. You’ll be part of an established Space Inch engineering team while also collaborating closely with our client’s team - a major global FinTech corporation in the field of investment management with multiple long-term initiatives underway.

About Working at Space Inch

• Our team is around 80 people, primarily based in Croatia, but also with members in South America, Serbia, and the US; the product team mostly being in the US, and engineering in Croatia and Brazil
• We are remote-first, but occasional travel may be required, e.g. for our annual company retreats
• We work on end-to-end projects with a long-term vision

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with 5+ years specifically in Python
• Strong general backend knowledge
• Proficient in web frameworks such as Django or Flask
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and containerization (Docker)
• Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB)
• Familiarity with modern TypeScript standards and frontend frameworks (Vue.js is preferred, but React/Angular experience is welcomed)
• Experience with CI/CD practices and tools
• Bonus points for: Knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ)

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and Build: Design, develop, and deploy high-quality applications and microservices, owning the backend architecture and coding standards
• Collaborate: Work closely with other developers, product managers and cross-functional teams (including client teams) to translate requirements into elegant technical solutions
• Quality First: Write clean, maintainable code, conduct thorough code reviews, mentor other developers and share your knowledge
• Iterate: Debug and optimize existing software to ensure maximum performance and reliability
