Network Operations Manager

Job Description

The Network Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, performance, and reliability of the organization's network infrastructure. This role leads network operations teams, ensures system uptime, and drives continuous improvement in network performance, security, and scalability.

The ideal candidate is a technical leader with strong experience in network engineering and operations, combined with proven management capabilities and a strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of enterprise network infrastructure
• Lead and manage network operations teams, including engineers and analysts
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal uptime
• Develop and implement network operations strategies, policies, and procedures
• Ensure rapid response to network incidents, outages, and performance issues
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure network security and compliance
• Manage network monitoring tools and platforms such as SolarWinds and Nagios
• Oversee configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of routers, switches, firewalls, and related systems
• Manage vendor relationships and service providers
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies
• Develop and track KPIs related to network performance and service delivery
• Plan and support network capacity, scaling, and infrastructure improvements
• Prepare reports and communicate performance metrics to leadership

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field required

Experience

• 7 to 10 years of experience in network engineering or network operations
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role
• Experience managing enterprise-level network environments

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of network architecture, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP), and infrastructure
• Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid environments
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of network security principles and compliance frameworks
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are preferred

Compensation

• Annual Salary Range: $110,000 to $150,000 USD, depending on experience, certifications, and qualification
