Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to help ensure the reliability, stability, and security of our client's SaaS platform. This is a part-time role (10–20 hours per week), ideal for someone experienced in modern web testing, with a strong focus on test automation using Cypress.

You will work closely with the engineering team to identify issues, expand automated test coverage, and validate releases before deployment. Our platform integrates with enterprise systems such as help desk tools and identity providers, so strong attention to detail and the ability to test edge cases and complex integrations are essential.

This role is well-suited for someone who can work independently, take ownership of QA processes, and proactively improve testing practices in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Responsibilities

Test Automation

  • Write, maintain, and improve end-to-end tests using Cypress
  • Expand automated coverage across critical user workflows
  • Improve the reliability and structure of existing test suites
  • Identify opportunities to implement automated regression testing

Manual QA

  • Perform exploratory testing on new features prior to release
  • Validate bug fixes and confirm proper resolution
  • Reproduce reported issues and provide clear documentation and steps
  • Test cross-browser behavior and UI consistency

Release QA

  • Validate staging environments before production deployments
  • Execute regression testing for major releases
  • Verify integrations and authentication flows (SSO, OAuth, etc.)

Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineers to identify bugs, edge cases, and root causes
  • Help define and improve testing strategies for new features
  • Document QA processes, test cases, and best practices

Requirements

  • Experience with Cypress for automated end-to-end testing
  • Strong understanding of modern web applications (APIs, authentication, cookies, sessions)
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable test code in JavaScript
  • Experience with bug tracking tools (GitHub Issues, Jira, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience testing SaaS platforms
  • Familiarity with OAuth, SSO, and MFA authentication flows
  • Experience testing API endpoints
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
  • Experience testing security-sensitive workflows
