To support this mission, our client is seeking a creative and innovative Senior Financial Crime (FinCrime) Product Owner. This pivotal role involves designing and implementing a robust, next-generation financial crime and fraud platform. Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the internal FinCrime and fraud detection platform.
  • Platform Development: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of technical products, moving from initial concept (zero) to first release and subsequent iterations.
  • Team Leadership: Identify talent needs and lead the hiring process to build a specialized team dedicated to financial crime prevention.
  • Innovation in Detection: Design innovative systems to eliminate bad actors and mitigate fraud risk while maintaining a seamless user experience.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, data science, and legal teams to ensure the platform meets both technical requirements and evolving regulatory standards.

Interview Process

  1. Hiring Manager Interview: An introductory discussion with the Head of Operations.
  2. Technical Interview: A dedicated problem-solving round conducted by a fellow Product Owner.
  3. Final Interview: A "Bar Raiser" session with the Chief Executive Officer.

Requirements

  • Industry Experience: Proven track record of building products specifically designed to prevent and detect financial crime and fraud within a high-growth startup or fintech environment.
  • Technical Background: Minimum of 2+ years of experience working on complex technical products, such as distributed systems, data science, machine learning, or platform infrastructure.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Demonstrated experience developing and launching products from inception through to market delivery.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the UK and EU regulatory environments and key financial crime regimes is highly advantageous.
  • Specialized Tools: Familiarity with cryptocurrency compliance and blockchain forensics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic) is preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data analytics capability with the ability to extract insights from large datasets to inform product strategy and decision-making.
  • Professional Credentials: A professional qualification from an internationally recognized body (e.g., ACAMS, ICA) is a significant plus.

Benefits

  • Compensation: Competitive base salary paired with stock options.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive private dental and health insurance coverage.
  • Equipment: Provision of top-tier hardware and technology required for the role.
  • Leave: 30 days of paid holiday (excluding bank holidays).
