Senior Accountant (AU Communications Industry, WFH)

Job Description

Schedule: Monday – Friday  (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM AEST) 

What are we looking for? 

Skills Required:  

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or financial management roles, ideally within a growing business environment. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Proficient in Xero  
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR processes and experience in documenting financial procedures. 
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on budgeting, cash flow, profitability analysis, tax compliance and BAS submission processes. 

Nice to Have: 

  • Preferred Proficient in Ascora, and Employment Hero or equivalent systems.  
  • CPA/CA accreditation is preferred.

What will you do? 

  • Manage end-to-end AP/AR processes, including invoice verification, payment processing, and reconciliation. 
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for AP/AR with the goal of long-term handover to administrative staff. 
  • Provide high-level financial analysis for cash flow, budgets, profitability, and key financial metrics. 
  • Assist in forecasting and financial planning aligned with business growth. 
  • Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation across financial workflows. 
  • Work closely with the CEO, COO, and Project Director to provide financial insights that drive business strategy and project execution. 
  • Monitor and report on project budgets, providing real-time insights into project profitability. 
  • Advise on new contract financial impacts and risks during project tendering  
  • Implement cash flow management strategies to ensure financial stability and support ongoing projects.
