I’m Steve and I’ve built this company to help lawyers grow thriving practices through coaching, training, and smart marketing strategies. What started as one-on-one coaching has evolved into a powerful brand that supports attorneys with the tools, structure, and mindset they need to win more business and build meaningful careers.

Right now, we’re expanding into a subscription-based community model and taking the business to a whole new level. We’re growing fast, there are a lot of moving parts, and I’m looking for someone who can step in as a true partner - someone who will take full ownership of marketing so I can focus on vision, clients, and scaling internationally.

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager.

You’re not a task-taker - you’re a strategic, proactive partner who fully owns the marketing function end-to-end. You bring structure, leadership, and forward-thinking ideas, and you’re ready to help take a strong brand to the international stage while managing the day-to-day execution flawlessly.

Your main responsibilities will include:

📈 Manage the day-to-day marketing of the BE THAT LAWYER brand and business
🧠 Own and drive the overall marketing strategy end-to-end
📬 Oversee content, newsletters, and lead generation initiatives
📱 Lead social media planning and execution
🎥 Coordinate and structure video content initiatives
🤝 Communicate directly with Steve to align on brand growth and lead goals
🌐 Manage and grow the new Circle community platform to ensure strong engagement and member value
🛠 Modernize and automate marketing systems using AI and software tools
📊 Delegate execution where needed and ensure all projects are delivered on time

This is a full-time role, working 7am–3pm Central (Chicago) time.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you need:

✅ 5+ years of hands-on experience managing marketing strategy and execution end-to-end
✅ Strong communication skills in English
✅ Strong understanding and practical use of AI and modern software tools for automation
✅  Video editing
✅  Social media management
✅  Newsletter and email marketing
✅ Website development and conversion optimization
✅ Strong work ethic
✅ High level of honesty, loyalty, and integrity
✅ Forward-thinking mindset
✅ Ability to multitask effectively

You’ll report directly to Steve Fretzin, President of BE THAT LAWYER. Steve is a plane crash survivor and a five-time author. 

He’s driven, resilient, and deeply committed to helping lawyers succeed - and he’s looking for a true marketing partner to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with him as the company scales.
