KIND seeks a full-time Data Specialist to assist in the implementation of Legal Server and other programmatic technology by managing communications with staff, conducting data quality checks, and improving internal team processes. The incumbent will be a highly detail-oriented person with strong computer skills who is committed to high-quality, accurate, and useful data. The Data Specialist will have excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to provide engaging training and helpful troubleshooting for staff. They will be proactive in seeking new ways to advance the Data & Program Technology Team’s goals of demonstrating KIND’s impact, saving staff time, building real-time analysis tools, and strengthening the data and tech culture at KIND.
This is a remote position based from any location in the U.S.
This position is contingent upon continued funding.
Essential Functions
Manages communications in the Legal Server inbox, providing troubleshooting and data support to KIND staff and delegating email correspondences among the Data & Program Technology Team.
Assists with automating processes such as inbox workflows, monthly data checks, and user account creation, among others.
Creates help materials and support the development of staff training on KIND data processes in collaboration with Data & Technology Training Manager.
Creates documentation on internal team processes and project management; updates and structures the Data & Program Technology Team handbook as the team grows. Periodically audits existing documentation to update and streamline processes.
Updates and runs reports to verify data accuracy and completeness.
Conducts routine data checks to ensure data hygiene and accuracy for funders.
Establishes and maintains best practices and standards for data collection, data checks, and reporting.
Assists Case Management System Administrators with configuration projects in Legal Server.
Other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
Undergraduate degree with 2 years of relevant experience; or high school diploma with 5 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience with Legal Server as a user, plus a strong interest in developing skills as an administrator.
Must be fluent in English. Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required.
Experience working with KIND or other legal aid programs.
Proactive and creative problem-solving skills.
Strong technological skills.
Passion for how superior data collection and analysis can further the execution of KIND’s mission.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (such as Teams, Excel, etc.).
Ability to work collaboratively and multi-task in our KIND environment, managing numerous priorities and emerging opportunities.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-riented environment; ability to prioritize tasks and delegate as appropriate.
