Senior Database Administrator
Hawaii Hours Required: 8:00 AM HST - 5:00 PM HST
Essential Job Functions:
Maintain Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases across all environments (Dev, Test, Prod).
Provision, monitor, and manage database instances across OCI, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Design and execute secure data migrations from on-premises to cloud environments.
Troubleshoot bottlenecks, tune SQL queries, indexes, and schemas for maximum efficiency.
Implement backup strategies, high-availability solutions, and conduct regular disaster recovery testing.
Enforce access controls and encryption to meet NIST, GDPR, and HIPAA standards.
Perform routine installations, upgrades, patching, and capacity planning to support future growth.
Develop scripts using Python, Shell, PL/SQL, or Ansible to automate monitoring and administrative tasks.
Build, review, and optimize database schemas to ensure data integrity and alignment with applications.
Maintain clear technical procedures and provide database health updates to stakeholders.
Execute additional technical duties and special projects as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
10+ years managing Oracle, PostgreSQL, and cloud-based SQL platforms, with advanced expertise in database design, performance optimization, and cloud deployments.
Proven track record in database migrations, performance tuning, high-availability implementations, and automation.
Extensive experience architecting end-to-end backup strategies and executing complex disaster recovery plans.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve high-pressure, deep-tier database performance and stability issues.
Ability to bridge technical operations and business objectives, translating complex data insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Proficiency in Oracle Enterprise Manager, CloudWatch, and other industry-standard monitoring and management suites.
Strong expertise in schema analysis, data modeling, and developing automation frameworks using Python, Shell, PL/SQL, or Ansible.
Able to perform more varied and difficult tasks.
Able to work in a collaborative team environment to obtain the best results.

Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
