Business Development Manager - Life Sciences

Job Description

Symmetrio is partnering with a respected manufacturing consulting organization seeking a highly driven Business Development Manager – Life Sciences to expand its presence within the medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors.

This is a hunter role. You will build a pipeline, open doors, convert assessments into revenue, and help grow the Life Sciences vertical across New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new Life Sciences manufacturing accounts throughout New Jersey.
  • Conduct in-person client meetings and business assessments to uncover compliance and operational opportunities.
  • Develop and present proposals that convert opportunities into revenue-generating projects.
  • Achieve defined KPIs, including prospect/client meetings, business assessments, proposals, orders, and billings.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in ISO 13485 and regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Support initiatives to establish MedAccred accreditation awareness and adoption within the supplier community.
  • Partner with senior leadership to support strategic growth of the Life Sciences vertical.
  • Develop standardized consulting and training offerings tailored to medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Contribute to open enrollment training programs related to Life Sciences compliance and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop collateral materials and outreach strategies supporting the Life Sciences initiative.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and documentation within CRM systems.
  • Support applicable NIST program goals and organizational initiatives.
  • Participate in company-sponsored programs, events, and industry engagement efforts.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and administrative requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • 3–5+ years of business development or consultative sales experience.
  • Experience conducting client-facing compliance discussions or operational assessments.
  • Familiarity with proposals, project scoping, and scheduling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • CRM experience (Salesforce preferred).

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Resides in New Jersey or willing to relocate.
  • Comfortable with frequent in-person client engagement across the state.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience delivering training or leading workshops within regulated environments.

Compensation

$75,000 – $90,000 base salary and performance-based bonuses
