We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Backend Engineer with 4–8 years of hands-on experience in building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in backend development and strong exposure to infrastructure design, cloud environments, and DevOps practices. You will play a key role in architecting robust systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring reliability across distributed environments.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices architectures.
• Translate product requirements into well-architected, efficient, and maintainable backend solutions.
• Lead the design and implementation of high-availability and fault-tolerant systems.
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system reliability.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Own and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable seamless deployments across environments.
• Implement best practices for security, observability, monitoring, and logging.
• Drive infrastructure automation and ensure production stability.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and uphold engineering excellence.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement long-term fixes.

Backend Expertise

• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Extensive experience designing RESTful APIs and working with distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of system design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Knowledge of message queues and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT).
• Strong grasp of performance tuning, caching strategies, and scalability patterns.
• Familiarity with test-driven development and backend testing frameworks.

Infrastructure & DevOps Expertise

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience setting up monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, load balancing, and CDN concepts.
• Experience managing production environments and implementing disaster recovery strategies.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of professional experience in backend engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience building and scaling production-grade systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with domain-driven design (DDD).
• Exposure to high-traffic or real-time systems.
• Background in fintech, SaaS, or platform-based products.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
