Overview

As the Billing Analyst, you play a key role within our accounting team to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of revenue in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. You perform analysis on complex revenue transactions. You are an effective communicator and problem-solver who is able to meaningfully collaborate with multiple teammates and departments.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze contracts with customers to ensure proper NetSuite customer billing setup and identify pertinent information to account for revenue transactions consistent with the Company’s existing revenue recognition policy and US GAAP, ensuring accurate and timely processing and review based on month-end close and other internal deadlines
  • Process transactions related to new contract setup, contract amendments, terminations, and credit memos in NetSuite, ensuring timely processing based internal deadlines
  • Own the processing of our monthly invoicing of variable revenue contracts, collaborating with Engineering to ensure correct flow of activity and investigating areas of improvement
  • Investigate and resolve invoicing issues and billing questions directly with customers and collaborating with internal stakeholders as appropriate (account management, legal, sales, accounts receivable, etc)
  • Participate in the month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries related to revenue, account reconciliations and schedules
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end schedules to support financial statement audits
  • Complete ad hoc reporting and additional project requests as assigned by managers

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1+ years of hands-on professional experience in a corporate finance environment
  • Previous transaction processing, billing, or general accounting experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to investigate complex billing and revenue questions independently, and work collaboratively to find appropriate solutions
  • Experience using NetSuite and Salesforce
  • Ability to process high volumes of transactions with attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
  • Understanding and working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced software/technology company

For this position, the expected base pay range is: $50,000-$75,000 per year.

This range represents the base pay for the role across all U.S. locations and is determined based on market data, internal equity, and experience. Final compensation may vary depending on geographic location, skills, and relevant experience.In addition to base pay, we offer a discretionary bonus for non-sales roles, a comprehensive benefits package, and, where applicable, sales incentives.

For this position, the expected discretionary bonus is 10% of the annual base salary.
