About us
Constructor is the next-generation platform for search and discovery in ecommerce, built to explicitly optimize for metrics like revenue, conversion rate, and profit. Our search engine is entirely invented in-house utilizing transformers and generative LLMs, and we use its core and personalization capabilities to power everything from search itself to recommendations to shopping agents. Engineering is by far our largest department, and we've built our proprietary engine to be the best on the market, having never lost an A/B test to a competitive technology. About the Position
Launched in 2019, Constructor is an AI-first ecommerce search and discovery platform that helps shoppers find the right products at the right time and enables leading global e-commerce brands to drive meaningful revenue and conversion gains.
As a Backend Engineer in the Search team you will improve the e-commerce experience for hundreds of millions of users across the world by working closely with our product managers to plan and deliver features that impact the entire stack, from the search backend to our customer facing APIs.
You will build rich product discovery experiences and develop features that define how users interact with search. You'll help determine what technologies we use to make backend performance and database communication blazing fast, and you'll help craft testing strategies to make sure uptime is 100% and customers stay satisfied.
Requirements
You will be successful in this role if you've done some or all of the below:
- Have experience with server-side engineering
- Have experience implementing beautiful and inherently consistent web APIs
- Have worked at a high-traffic website and designed highly available and robust systems
- Have experience with relational databases and distributed systems
- Enjoy being part of the product development process, incorporating customer feedback, and contributing to all layers of feature development
- Love designing and implementing new features
- Enjoy helping others around you grow as developers and be successful
- Can work independently
