Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Azure Platform Engineer to lead the architectural design and operational execution of our Azure integration landscape. In this role, you will be the primary technical authority for the platform enabling critical data flows between Power Apps and SAP SuccessFactors.

You will own the platform approach end-to-end—defining standards for API Management (APIM), DevOps governance, and security—while mentoring mid-level engineers to ensure a production-grade, highly available environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Lead the platform design for the Azure-based integration landscape, ensuring it meets enterprise-grade scalability and performance requirements.
• APIM Architecture: Own the complete Azure API Management strategy, including multi-environment synchronization, advanced policy patterns, security models, and governance.
• DevOps Governance: Define and implement CI/CD standards in Azure DevOps, enforcing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices, automated quality gates, and robust rollback procedures.
• Operational Excellence: Establish the operational model, including SLOs, sophisticated logging/monitoring frameworks, incident response processes, and cloud cost controls.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure "Security by Design" across the platform, managing secrets, key rotation (Key Vault), least-privilege access (RBAC), and full auditability.
• Mentorship & Collaboration: Provide technical guidance to mid-level engineers and act as the bridge between Solution Architects and Integration Developers.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Leadership

• Azure Platform Mastery: Deep experience in engineering and operating complex Azure environments at scale.
• Expert-Level APIM: Advanced knowledge of APIM policies, lifecycle management, and high-availability (HA) considerations.
• Release Engineering: Strong background in Azure DevOps implementation, including complex release governance and automation.
• Distributed Systems Observability: Leadership in establishing monitoring/alerting strategies for distributed architectures.
• Cloud Security: Solid fundamentals in identity management, network hardening, and API security (OAuth2, OIDC, mTLS).

Soft Skills

• Architectural Thinking: Ability to translate high-level business requirements into secure, repeatable technical blueprints.
• Mentoring: Proven track record of guiding junior and mid-level engineers through complex deployments.

Nice to Have

• Enterprise Integration: Experience defining API management strategies within large-scale corporate contexts.
• Power Platform Synergy: Understanding of Microsoft Power Platform integration constraints and patterns.
• SaaS Integration: Hands-on exposure to SAP SuccessFactors OData/API integration.
