Job Description

About the Role

As a Part-Time Project Management (German-speaking), you will support the Delivery Team at Chemin, working closely with our Project Delivery Executives to ensure the successful execution of German-language AI data annotation projects.

This is a junior, hands-on role focused on operations, people management, and quality execution. You will act as the main point of contact for German-speaking annotators, supporting their onboarding, training, and day-to-day execution.

As the internal team does not speak German, this role is critical in safeguarding quality and ensuring that German-language annotations meet required standards before submission to clients.

You will report to the Project Delivery Executive and contribute directly to managing people, processes, and quality across ongoing project.

Work Arrangements

  • Fully remote or hybrid (option to work from our Damansara Heights office, Kuala Lumpur, on Mondays and Fridays)
  • Candidates do not need to be based in Germany
  • Able to work with overlapping hours with:
    • Our Malaysia/ SEA-based team
    • German-speaking annotators, when required
  • Comfortable coordinating across time zones (no strict Germany-hours requirement)
  • Minimum contract period: 3 months (renewable based on performance)
  • Immediate availability required (target start: February 2026 onwards)

Requirements

Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be supporting operations within the project of Audio Transcription and Segmentation (German language), including:

  • Providing day-to-day operational support to ensure German-language projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Assisting with project setup, planning, and guideline development
  • Supporting annotator onboarding, training, and ongoing guidance
  • Managing and supporting a remote team of German-speaking annotators
  • Acting as the language quality gatekeeper, ensuring submissions meet required accuracy and quality thresholds (target: 95%)
  • Performing detailed quality checks to identify language, formatting, and annotation issues before client submission
  • Guiding annotators through questions and challenges via internal communication platforms
  • Handling project administration tasks in line with internal and client standards
  • Communicating clearly with internal stakeholders on project progress, risks, and quality issues
  • Applying strong time management and prioritisation skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Qualifications

  • Fluent in German (Native or B2+ required)
    • Non-native speakers are welcome, provided they have B2 above proficiency and strong confidence in reviewing German-language work
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
  • 0–2 years of experience in project management, operations, or people management in any capacity
    • This is a junior role that intended for candidates who enjoy being hands-on and learning on the job
  • Prior experience managing tasks, timelines, or contributors (work, internship, freelance, or extracurricular)
  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify subtle language and annotation errors
  • Fast learner, self-driven, and comfortable working in fast-paced project environments
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when supporting and guiding remote teams
  • Technically competent in Google Workspace, particularly spreadsheets

Bonus (Nice to Have)

  • Experience working on data annotation, language, or AI-related projects
  • Experience leading or supporting small to medium-sized teams
  • Background in linguistics, language studies, or similar fields
  • Prior experience working with or for AI/data companies
  • Familiarity with sourcing or engaging German-speaking communities from your region
  • Proficiency in additional languages
